Went on to summit Iceberg Peak and Ahern Peak
EPIC day and super fun route

2010 - Solo completion of Ptarmigan-Ahern Goat Trail, descended Iceberg Notch.
Shangri La, Iceberg Notch, Iceberg Peak, Swiftcurrent Pass.
August 2010 en route to Ahern and Ipasha
August 2011 en route to Iceberg
It's amazing how many mountaineering possibilities this notch opens up for climbers. It's also amazing how many mountain goat carcass eating possibilities it opens up for wolverines.
Descended the notch with Dan from MN, after doing the Ptarmigan wall goat trail traverse. Climbed up cliffs before Ahern pass to reach the notch after some arduous scrambling.
Scrabbled up the notch, inroute to iceberg peak. (GMS outing.)
First time to Iceburg Lake and Many Glacier area for that matter. Quite stunning! Climbed a loose but fun gully near the base of the route to get to the actual route. Rest of route while a little loose was a lot of fun. Class 3 most of the way with the short 4 section near the upside down F
I agree with Bob; I was very surprised at how easy it was to find the route. Class III for most of the way, with a rather easy class IV pitch climbing through the algal reef. Made my way down to Ahern Pass and climbed Ahern Peak afterwards.
Second time to the Notch on 08/31/12, followed by a climb of Iceberg Peak. Followed Continental Divide south and took JG Edwards incredible route through North Swiftcurrent Glacier Basin back to the trail east of Swiftcurrent Pass. Unbelievable stuff.
1987 with Bill en-route Nervous Traverse and Ahern, Ipasha and Pyramid.
Climbed with Vern Ingraham enroute to Ahern and Ipasha. Had some trouble finding the route back down straying too far to the right into cliffs initially.
