In February 2012...

...a period of severe cold gripped the whole of Europe and vast parts of Asia as far as Japan. This was, among all the unpleasant effects, also the cause for the natural creation of many fantastic and rarely seen ice phenomenons and structures. I put together some pictures I took in the area 33 kilometers south-east of Dresden known as "Sächsische Schweiz" or "Saxonian Switzerland", well known for it's fascinating and often monumental natural sandstone structures, in which I was from Feb. 11th to Feb. 19th of 2012.
