Kocna from north, from Jezersko. These slopes carry many alpine stories - climbing and, most important, skiing. Here's where Davo Krnicar was training for his first continuous skiing from Everest. October 26, 2003.

Davo the man

Those extreme ski folks are really crazy. Hats off to Davo, he is one of the best. I can't believe where those guys ski, it's amazing. Beautiful shot Vid.

Re: Davo the man

Yes, Sasa, this sunday was very beautiful (see the thread: How was your weekend). On this picture one of Davo's routes can be clearly seen. It is called Povnova dolina - The Noon Valley. You can see snow fields almost from the summit ridge of Kocna. But the bottom part is rocky and exposed. It was amazing also when friends were talking how he was skiing Sinji slap (frozen fall), below Ceska koca. Sliding slowly down, but when reaching on a vertical icy part he simply fell down some 15 meters on a narrow ledge with soft powder, resumed balance and continued skiing over just a little less steep ice-fall.
