Re: Awesome photo of

Thanks Larry! Yes, I started hiking at Albion Basin. After American Fork Twin Peaks, I just followed the divide. There is no maintained trail on the ridge. This photo was taken near Red Baldy.

Re: Awesome photo ...

I've heard of some people doing Cottonwood
Ridge from Alta to Wasatch Boulervard.

Great picture, Melinda! Amazing stuff.

Re: Awesome photo ...

I did a hike that combined the Bullion Divide and Beatout Hike on the Alpine Ridge. It was a long day. I’ve done the Cottonwood Traverse a couple times. Going from west to east has more elevation gain. The opposite direction starts higher and does the crux of the traverse, west of Monte Cristo, earlier in the day. I started at Alta and ended at Broads Fork. Didn’t quite make it to Wasatch Boulevard :)

This is why

I'm trying to improve my scrambling - doing the Bullion Divide is a big goal of mine.

Re: This is why

Thanks! With good route finding, the Bullion Divide does not exceed class 3 scrambling. If you do run into more difficult terrain you should be able to find a way around it on either side of the ridge. It’s a fun route and I highly recommend it.

Re: Melinda ...

Actually, I think your photo was posted before
mine was.

That's the only reason I can think of (why) it received more votes than mine.

Glad you remembered that picture, I ended up
having to purchase another pair of trousers!

Have a great weekend !!! : )))
