That thing LOOKS like a castle

in every sense of the word, and I had not
realized (until now) that it has three summits.

Zee, your amazing ability to communicate beta
in a way that aspires us really kills me !!!

Re: That thing LOOKS like a castle

Thank you Larry. There's actually 5 summits on the ridge with over 200' of prominence. There's an easy one off to the right/south, and a hard one off to the left/north. I think the 3 northernmost ones are most commonly thought of as Red Castle and are labeled as such on the map, but Scott calls the one on the right in the picture, the highest one, Red Castle.

Re: That thing LOOKS like a castle...

Yes, Scott's an amazing resource as far as
northern Utah and the Colorado Plateau goes.

Your shot of Red Castle could almost pass as
an ocean shot - just imagine Red Castle Lake
being part of an inland sea lapping against
the sides of Red Castle.

Do you hear the waves crashing along its sides ???

Re: That thing LOOKS like a castle...

It was a little windy, so I did hear the waves lapping, but not crashing.

Re: Yet another great....

Thanks, what I like about Utah is that it is so varied. The Uintas look completely different from the Wasatch.

Well composed:-

That is a well composed shot. The cliffs the water and the foreground. Great.
