Indigo Bush Blossoms

Indigo Bush Blossoms

Psorothamnus fremontii Photo taken on route to Juniper Canyon in Red Rocks, Nevada. May 2007. The peak visible in the background is Bridge Point. Indigo Bush is a small shrub and can grow up to 4 feet tall. Its fruit is a legume, but the plant has poor forage value for wildlife. It is also suspected to be poisonous. Native Americans used it as a dye.
