Indigo Bush Blossoms

Psorothamnus fremontii

Photo taken on route to Juniper Canyon in Red Rocks, Nevada.
May 2007.
The peak visible in the background is Bridge Point.

Indigo Bush is a small shrub and can grow up to 4 feet tall. Its fruit is a legume, but the plant has poor forage value for wildlife. It is also suspected to be poisonous.
Native Americans used it as a dye.
