Jan on an easy part of the route

Around 500&nbps;m we finally got on some old snow. Soon after, Jan could put on his skis and I my snow shoes. In the background is the lower part of the Svínafellsjökull glacier. Yesterday we came up there, mostly following the (not visible) lateral moraine on the left side. The lower part had no snow, but we struggled with lots of rocks covering the ice. Right now we're on terrain just south of the glacier, but we'll soon be on ice again, and, like with this old snow on the rocks, soon there will be snow on the glacier. Hopefully most of the crevasses will be filled up nicely... 18 May 2017.
