Jan starting the rappel to the base of the Munxar Valley crags

A few years ago a number of routes have been bolted on the cliffs lining the valley. We were staying in the village of Xlendi, and this was the nearest developed rock climbing area, so we checked it out. There are rappelling anchors in place at the top of the cliffs. There is no easy access to the valley floor. There is no trail, and it is thick with bamboo and other plants. Other than coming in from above, you would need at least a machete to enter. 19 Dec 2016.
