Red - The standard route which is loose scree and not very fun to go up.
Black - The alternate route up via a steep grassy slope

THE HARD WAY

Folks insist on doing this route. This is the hard way. Frenchman Creek s easier and prettier, all on solid ground. The price is 4WD, though, which is probably why most folks vie for Horn Fork Basin. Oh well. Whatever...Grant's pic shows the conditions to expect on this tortuous route.

You will definitely get a workout with this route. I highly advise not accend the gully shown on the red route.

Nice photo with routes. The scree slope is great for coming down -- one of the best. You can make up for a lot of lost time if you need to on this one.
