Keystone Thrust Above Cactus Flats

Keystone Thrust Above Cactus Flats

Photo shows how the movement of a thrust fault created "Red Rock Cliffs" high above the cactus-filled Mojave desert, west of Las Vegas in Nevada. Peaks from left to right: Mount Wilson, Rainbow Mountain, Rainbow Wall, Magic Mountain (foreground), Juniper Mountain, Sandstone Bluffs (background), Mescalito, and the southern cliffs of Bridge Point. Also seen is the mouth of Pine Canyon, between Juniper Mountain and Bridge Point. These cactus flats are home to wild burros. That's the beautiful one

I wanted to have another look at. Funnily, I've had to look for it for quite a while (at the moment, it's on page 5 of your gallery). Perhaps more evidence that hardly ever does democracy result in the best coming out on top - it can just keep the worst away.

Re: That's the beautiful one

Yes, that's a very fine observation, my friend!

I remember when I was wandering in the desert; coming across wild burros or asses.

Wild animals of the desert and people - almost one in the same !!!!! : )))))))
