Best.Sunrise. Ever.
7-Day Lemosho Route, Zara Tours. <6 hrs to Stella Point then 20 minutes to Uhuru Peak. Perfect weather! Very dusty except last day in the forest where it was muddy.

Via Machame
Despite the crowds, this is one of the best mountain experiences of all time.

Macheme Route
Clear, calm night on Kili- watched an electrical storm go off above the clouds...climbed with Focus In Africa, would recommend them to others looking to climb Kili.

Awesome hike
Hikes from Lemosho route.. HAd good time and made some gr88 friends..:)
Planned the entire trip by phone and internet through Zara in Moshi. Trip was outstanding from start to finish. Took a chance on the rainy season ending early to avoid crowds on the way to the summit. Ascended via Machame; only rained 1 day on the mountain so gamble paid off. My local guide Daniel assembled a great team and we summitted right on schdule. Looking forward to a return trip in a few years with my son once he gets older.

Lemosho 9
We had a great trek on the Lemosho 9 day route. I was very happy with every aspect of our climb. On the 3 day when my energy was low the guide started telling some stories. This helped pass the time. Our full group of 5 made it to the summit with out having to be carried up or using oxygen. I would highly recommened E-Trip Africa. The pre-trip info was very usefull and their on the ground team really is well organized. Also they provide the portable toilet and toilet tents on all of the treks.

Rongai Route @ Mount Kilimanjaro
The 6 day climb is very easy, except for the summit day. That is difficult. I highly suggest purchasing fox fur mittens as I was the only one in my group that had toasty hands and never had to use hand warmers.

Machame Route
I am so glad I didn't listen to the naysayers. Yes, there are a lot of people. No, this is not a mountain to go to for solitude and hardcore climbing. But for most of us mere mortals, it is a rare opportunity to walk on high above the clouds and admire a glacier-covered summit near the equator. The mountain is generous and accomodating, as are the people. Thank you, Kilimanjaro, and thank you, local Tanzanians who chose to share their treasure with us.

Marangu Route
Went on a mission trip to Kenya and then went to Tanzania to clime the mountain. We had 25 people in the group so we had to go on the Marangu Route. Personally I would have liked to go up over the glaciers but maybe next time. Due to the large group of climbers that hadn't climbed anything before it was decided to take 6 days to climb it so it was a relaxed and enjoyable climb. Especially with the porters cooking and staying in the huts. Not what I would call a real mountaineering climb. The views ware amazing. Made it on the summit for sunrise witch was nice. All considered Mt. Shasta Avalanche Gulch was harder than this. Also 20 people in our group made the summit and most of them had never climbed any high altitude mountains.

6d Umbwe Route
Umbwe is a very nice route going straight up through all vegetation zones and it is not very crowded. Wanted to do the Western Breach with overnight stay at the crater but one of our group of three felt a bit weak so we detoured to Machame and summited via Stella Point.

Marango route with REI. Well organized and 11 of 13 made it to Uhuru Peak. Good climb, but cloudy, 10 degrees and wind at top.

Machame
Went up the Machame route in 6 days/5 nights. Kilimanjaro is NOT easy! Previous days to the summit are quite doable, even though I went from Barranco to Barafu in one day, but the summit day was grueling, and we didn“t even have it windy or really cold (-10 the most).
