Kohala Mtn and Waimea

Kohala Mtn and Waimea

Kohala Mountain (5480+F, 2560P) anchors the northwest end of the Big Island. It is the oldest volcano on the island but is dead for all intents and purposes. Below Kohala is the ranch town of Waimea where the paniolo roam. In the distance at upper right is Haleakala (10,023 ft), the highest point on the island of Maui. March 5, 2007.

I've never seen Kohala without clouds over most of it.
