KVHiker 11-29-2009 Split Mountain #1
This is Split Mountain on the Greenhorn Summit in the Kern River Valley.After completing Bohna Peak, I met my friends ( Kern River Valley Hiking Club ) at the trailhead. I was happy to see that the turnout was very good and it included 13 hikers. Split Mountain (6835’) is listed at 8 miles round trip to with 3300' of elevation gain. The view is amazing on Split, and the bushwhacking is fun. On this day we completed a Split-Black Loop.
