Large Damselfly in Oak Creek

Large Damselfly in Oak Creek

Spread-winged Damselfly (from the Lestidae Family) spotted in the North Fork of Oak Creek Canyon in Red Rocks, Nevada. October 2009. This family of damselflies holds their wings at about 45 degrees when resting instead of 90 degrees (parallel to each other) as it is most common with other damselflies.
