Gorgeous areaDid you name it "Laurel Pass" or is it an (un)official name for the Laurel-Bloody Saddle? :)
I am planning to hike up there in October some time and maybe up Laurel or Bloody (if snow permits).
Cheers, Guido

Re: Gorgeous areaIt is not officially named Laurel Pass but I've seen in two guide books the term "Laurel Pass' referenced when describing the trail that goes from Laurel Canyon to Convict. The views from the "Pass" are spectacular! Thanks. CJ

Re: Gorgeous areaThanks. I hope I can check it out myself very soon. You hiked the entire rough dirt road up the the trailhead, right? Did you park somewhere along Sherwin Road?
Cheers, Guido

Re: Gorgeous areaI parked at the beginning of Laurel Canyon Rd. and Sherwin Rd. and hiked almost to Laurel Lakes and then took the trail up and over the saddle. From the dirt road to the saddle is a great trail with awesome views. Obviously, if you have 4 wheel drive the trip would bypass the dirt road. Personally, I'd rather walk! CJ

Re: Gorgeous areaThanks a lot. Since I don't have a 4WD I will walk, too. Guido
