view NE from terminus of present-day Spencer Trail: Navajo Mountain is prominence on the horizon. The Colorado River deeply cut into this plateau of sandstone to create Glen Canyon (foreground). The smokestacks of the coal-fired power plant at Page, Arizona are visible just right of Navajo Mt peak.
