Lemonadeberry

Lemonadeberry

Lemonadeberry (Rhus trilobata) photographed in Pine Creek area of Red Rocks, Nevada in early June 2008. Rhus trilobata is also often called Threeleaf Sumac and indeed it has a very distinctive three-lobed leaf. Its berries are small and red. They are edible and have a tart taste. In an emergency if you don't like the taste of water you find you can add these berries to it and make lemonade ;)

Okay ...

You're making me very thirsty.
Lemonade sounds like a great idea
on a very warm day in the desert!

Not really edible?

IMVHO ... could you say "suckable" instead LOL? Rolling them over one's tongue is not the same as chewing and swallowing :)

Re: Not really edible?

You are right, I wouldn't want to swallow these.

Re: Not really edible?

My wife always tells me I'm living
inside a vacuum cleaner. I respond
with, "Oh, that really sucks!" :)
