Lenticular cloud over Lake Minnewanka

Lenticular cloud over Lake Minnewanka

Last year, on September 18th, I patiently watched as a huge lenticular cloud hung virtually motionless in the air behind Banff's Mount Rundle. As the day turned to evening, the cloud started to drift, ever so slowly, towards the north. I followed it to the shore of Lake Minnewanka, where I photographed what remained of the cloud in the delicate pink light of sunset.

after sunset beauty

I always loved to admire them, especially when bivouacing somewhere up there, missing that a lot now...!

Great photo
