Less than 4 1/2 miles away, the North Sister dominates this pic taken Sept. 4, 1999 from the summit of the South Sister. The more distant mountains, in order, are Mt. Jefferson, 40 miles, Mt. Rainier, barely visible low on the horizon, 190 miles, Mt. Hood, 88 miles and Mt. Adams, 146 miles .

What a view!!

To see from S Sister past Hood to Rainier, + Adams is awesome- that's one of the coolest things about the Cascade volcanoes- the line of sight + view!! Lucky you that day & nice shot!
