Descent only  Sucess!

Great route, start early (REALLY early) if you want to avoid the crowds.

Little more challenging than Tuckerman’s  Sucess!

Nice climb. Had a hot dog at the top. Love NH.

Windy!  Sucess!

The wind on the summit of Lion Head was probably in the 80-90 mph range, so I bailed on my Mt. Washington attempt. I literally could not walk forward in the incredibly strong and steady wind. The twelve people who started up before me that day all turned around.

Lions Head Route  Sucess!

The colors were great. The summit was socked in of course and was very windy and cold. Fun route.

Didn't care for this route  Sucess!

Ascended via Tuckerman, decided to come down Lion Head thinking it might be a little easier. I didn't think it was. Of course, I was in 60-80 mph winds, but if I had to do it over again, I would absolutely have descended via Tucks again. I didn't really see a big difference b/w the two routes.

Much Easier than Tucks & Huntington  Sucess!

Still a nice hike, not too sure why they put stairs on one section.

Lion Head Winter Route  Sucess!

Third winter ascent of Washington on this route. Windy and -20 to -30F wind chill. Not the best conditions but not the worst I have ascended in.

great hike  Sucess!

Great hike with excellent views into the snowy ravine and out towards Rt. 16. Rather crowded at the top.

winter route from pinkham  Sucess!

Windy at first but overall a fine day, not much below freezing with a coating of firm fresh snow. Crampons were helpful but not strictly necessary - a few people bare-booted it, others used ice axes and actually roped up, you meet all kinds of people on this mountain.
I got the chance to meet "Monroe" on Lion's Head.
