Lizard on Sandia

Lizard on Sandia

A lizard I found just below the summit of South Sandia Peak. I'd seen smaller versions of this lizard but this one was quite big. Taken 22 Jun 2008

Adult Short-horned lizard

This is a good picture of a Phrynosoma douglasii. More info can be found in Amphibians and Reptiles of New Mexico by Dgenhardt, Painter, and Price.

Re: Adult Short-horned lizard

Thanks, I wasn't sure what kind he was and I never got around to looking it up. It was cool to get so close to one this size.
