Lodner summit view to the southeastern Ötztaler Alpen

On the left, the highest nearby peak is the Hinterer Seelenkogel (3470m), due north. A bit further east is the broad Liebenerspitze (3399m), and above it, slightly to the right, with only the very summit visible, Hochfirst (3403m). All these peaks are part of the Ötztaler Hauptkamm, and lie on the Austrian-Italian border. Just a little further right, in the center of the picture, lie the distant peaks of the Stubai Group. Its highest peak, Zuckerhütl (3507m), isn't impressive at all, being barely visible just right of the Hochfirst, but the Wilder Freiger (3418m) is easy to from the glacier on its southern slope. Considering that it faces the sun all day, it's still a pretty big one. 15 July 2013.
