Long-leaf Phlox

Long-leaf Phlox

Phlox longifolia is a common early bloom in the Wasatch Foothills. You can see its telltale super-narrow tapering leaves and "ten-stripe barrel" calyxes made of alternating 5 darker-green bands and 5 more narrow, almost translucent bands in between. 5/15/08
