Great!

A remarkable photo, which shows very well the pecularities in the geological stucture of that part of the Pyrenees! Congratulations!

Re: Great!

In 1993 I started out from Gavarnie, going across the Brèche de Roland to the Refugio Goríz (unfortunately the weather wasn't so fantastic); next day I did the Monte Perdido, then, as the bad weather took over for good, I went down to Torla, where I spent three very pleasant days. Afterwards I went over the Bujaruelo pass back to the Refuge de la Brèche, spent a night there, and next day, taking advantage of a spell of "Föhn", I went up the Taillon (there was a relentless, ferocious wind blowing nonstop from the west all the way from the Brèche de Roland to the top of the Taillon!) and La Casque on the Cirque de Gavarnie. The landscape formations on the spanish side I found really remarkable - these round, sort of "relief"-like structured mountains that look more like mounds, as well as the Cañon de Ordesa! I hope to go back there one day, and then with really good weather awaiting me!

Re: Great!

Wow ! Long time ago :) This was in the time when not so many tourists went on this route as nowadays...
