4 star for the mt goat too, those who don't climb don't realize how rare it is....they would rather vote on sunsets shot from home I understand..most think sheep are goats anyway...last pair I saw sure in the hell were not going to let me get a photo....like the route photo as well sunvalley, getting me to brag more and more on Idaho...cheers

Thanks for your vote JB...

The name Lorenzo Peak came from a well known local mountaineer (I'll have to find his name again) who climbed it in the late 70s and decided to name it after his recently deceased dog, Lorenzo.

I was kinda bummed to find this out as I had planned to make a summit register to take to the top and name it Wood River Peak because of its high popularity in postcards and association with the Wood River Valley. I'll put this info in the main text.

What is the origin of the name? I haven't seen the name anywhere.

Oh, and what's the story of skiers?

Great page, Sean--you've definitely given me an Idaho peak to put on my "to do" list! Thank you!

Good writing as well. Because Lorenzo Peak is not officially named on maps yet, or has been given a true elevation... raises some questions as to the source of the word "Lorenzo" (how is the mountain designated on maps?); plus, is there some question as to exact elevation? Interesting stuff...
