Thank you for your kind words and prayers. My memories of Stefan are as fresh today as they were during the days we spent together on the mountain. I'm sure Stefan's family appreciates your kind words and thoughts as well.
On a more cheery note how did you enjoy your adventure on Aconcagua and was your climb successful?
We enjoyed the trip alot. An amazing experience. However we were not successful on the summit. We made it to camp 2 that evening and stayed for a day as the storm came through. With the weather outlook grim for the next 3-4 days and the health of our team at question we decided to retreat to base camp. From there we decided to end it there and hike out to the road. We has a wonderful time, a great challenge, but with all that combined with a time limit I think we made the best decision based on our circumstances. I hope to get back down there one day to attempt it again. If you don't mind me asking have you/or do you plan to climb it again?
I've been down there several times usually leading private expeditions. I really enjoy making the trip whenever possible and will probably be down there again. There didn't seem to be a lot of interest last year due to the economy and I haven't seen many posts or received many emails from climbers asking for information this year. Who knows what the future holds. Good luck on your future climbs.
