Approach
Same as regular route but park at lower trailhead at 3950 ft. Its right at a 180 degree right hand turn.
Route Description
This is a small variation but well worth it! The lower trail follows O'Brien Creek up to the upper trailhead. There are several small bridges over feeders to the creek. I took this route because there was too much snow on the road to continue up safely. I enjoyed it so much I had to share it. This should also clear up some confusion as there is no mention of a second trailhead on the main page. It is extremely beautiful and secluded on a snowy day. The lower trail is 3/4 to a mile long and comes out at the upper trailhead.
