Loyalsock Creek Valley

A view from Smith Knob looking upstream along Loyalsock Creek. This was mile 6 of the Loyalsock Trail and my friend and I were already feeling miserable and tired, though we still had 54 miles to go. He still talks about how he loathes Smiths Knob. However, the beauty of the area can still be appreciated. The rugged Allegheny Plateau can be seen, with farmlands in this area only built along the fertile ground of the stream valley floor. (August 1, 2008)
