"So I was sitting in my cubicle today, and I realized, ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single day that you see me, that's on the worst day of my life."

from Crabtree FallsI thought the navigation on this would be tricky but the entire route was well signed at the trail and road intersections. Three hours and five minutes to the top, which was an unremarkable summit. Microspikes were a good idea by the falls where the tread of countless feet had already turned the trail to ice. I started late so I did not have time for Spy Rock.

Maintop MountainI've been to Spy Rock a number of times, but only went to the actual Maintop summit once. The AT no longer travels over the summit, although you can reach it easily with a little bit of a bushwhack. There is a section of trail still visible on the summit, as well as the rock cairn.

Loop from fishery with PriestThe AT has been rerouted and doesn't go over the summit...the path is still there, but you need to look for it.

Been Looking at This OneI actually woke up to my alarm at 2:30! At 3:00 AM on Sunday morning I started my 3 hour drive out to the mountains. At 6:30 AM I started my hike with a temperature of 26 degrees (sweet!). It was a great day, cool and crisp, and no crowds.
