Male Roe Deer

Roe Deer (Capreolus capreolus - in Polish – sarna - rogacz) is the smallest species of deer native to Europe. It weights from 18 to 29 kg. Its summer coat is rich brown in colour. In winter the fur is thick and long and it has gray or grayish brown color with a white rump patch. Unlike other species of deer the Roe is mostly a solitary animal. They live either alone, or in small groups made up of a female and her young. Only males of this species have antlers. Spinners Nature Preserve – Czarnorzeki - April 2010.

Re: Piekna!

Dziekuje za uznanie. Szkoda, ze teraz u nas w czasie wielkiej wody wiele sarenek utopilo sie. W 1989 roku bylem w Merced w czasie wycieczki w rejon Yosemite. Serdecznie pozdrawiam, Henryk
