Matted Globularia

Matted Globularia (Globularia cordifolia) is not widespread, yet easy to spot perennial of the Cicarija mountain range. Lavender-blue shaggy flowers are trademark of the specie, bold stem makes it easy to distinct from similar Globuralia punctata. Flower is locally known as Srcolika mračnica, sometimes name Modra glavulja is used as well. Flowering season is May to June. Matted Globularia can be found in other mountain ranges of Europe as well, most notably the Pyrinnees, Eastern Alps and the mountains of Pannonian basin
