Matterhorn - two different faces

Matterhorn - two different faces

Two considerably different faces of Matterhorn within four days. The first photo I took on Wednesday (30th of August 2006) on the route to the Hoernli hut. After a period of bad weather clouds disappeared, fresh fallen snow made a nice "winter" impression. The second picture I took on saturday (2nd of September 2006) from Zermatt in the early morning. The snow in the lower regions was completely gone, weather was just perfect. - Click to enlarge - August & September 2006 by Herbert

Re: Great...

Thanks, justahiker! It was very interesting to see, how these changes happened in a short time - we just arrived, when a long, bad weather period ended and a 3-day high-pressure weather started.
