Memorial day is NOT the time...

Memorial day is NOT the time to climb this mountain. This pic helps to remind me that I counted at least 100 other climbers up there when I was there 5-24-03

Too many people

Great picture but it kind of reminds of going to the mall on the Saturday before Xmas.

Re: Too many people

It was unbelievable up there. I was solo and it turned out I was glad I was. I was able to pick my opening when the traffic decreased a bit to make my summit effort. A weekday is a better choice considering the proximity to Portland.

Re: Too many people

You wait 'till I put my Baker pictures up in the next few days. On Baker's summit plateau I stopped counting people when I got to 200. On the way up the Easton, I witnessed an endless string of rope teams on the horizon above coming up the Coleman-Deming Route. Baker on a sunny weekend in June: don't do it!

Re: Too many people

Thanks for the warning Paul as I was planning to do Baker in June. Maybe May would be the way to go. I look forward to seeing your Mt. Baker pics.

Re: Too many people

Maybe that's the upside of Koch Peak. The bears eat us people so it's not so busy!
