Traverse West-East  Sucess!

Crossed all the summits, starting from the Conscrits refuge, and continued on to the Durier refuge. Classic ridge traverse with great views in a less crowded part of the range.

Beautiful climb in good conditions. So strange the Refuge des Conscrits was almost empty on a nice summer day...but very relaxing on the other hand as well. Descent over the Aiguille de la Bérangère. Long way back to Le Cugnon.

One of the best alpine Traverses!  Sucess!

Nice hut walk the previous day to Refuge Des Conscrits..Overnight and 4-00 am start ascending gradually up the glacier to Col des Domes. Moving together easilly over the domes stopping for many photographs, Snow and weather conditions perfect No Wind! After final dome we descended direct down the northerly glacier d'Armancette this saved us going over the aquille de Berangere and thus duplicating our walk in. Instead we had after leaving the glacier a glorious long valley walkout, a valley festooned with wild alpine flowers of every colour a truly great day 12 hour round trip. Grade PD.

Dome Oriental  Sucess!

Climbed from Conscrits, fun climb but ridge was quite icy since it was late in the season so required caution considering the significant exposure to the left of the ridge! Tiring on the ankles but a beautiful climb!

Route Climbed: Traverse, started with Aig de Berangère Date Climbed: july 14, 2005  Sucess!

Excellent weather and great conditions. Probably one of the finest traverses of the alps. Impressive views all around and downwards ;-). Great company too, thanks to "Bergpallieters".

Route Climbed: Standard (from Conscrits refuge) Date Climbed: July 4, 1998  Sucess!

It was a splendid acclimatization climb before attempting Mont Blanc. It rained on the previous day and there was fresh snow at the refuge; however, on the next morning the weather had cleared at the time that we started our long hike. The view from the summit ridge to the green pastures in the valleys (that were far below us) was unforgettable.

Didn't really get start due to a bad infection in my finger that i had been fighting with for a few days but really enjoyed the hike up (with clarity) and the climbing we did do in the area.

Route Climbed: Crossing over the ridges Date Climbed: 27 july 2003  Sucess!

After an unusual summer heat in the Alps, the whole crest of the Dômes de Miage was icy, specially the descent from the Occidental Dôme. Nevertheless, it was a fantastic walk on an aerial ridge.

We made this tour in 2 days. Start in Notre Dame de la Gorge saturday at 10 h 30. Lunch at Tré la Tête refuge. Arrival to the Refuge des Conscrits at 15h.

Start sunday morning at 5h. The Tré la Tête glacier was rather crevassed and we had to be careful on the snowbridges. The Central Dôme, a perfect snow pyramid was reached at 7h, the Occidental Dôme at 7h30. In the descent to the col de la Bérangère the ice was hard and the slope 40% : good technical use of the cramps obligatory ! After an easy ascent of the Aiguille de la Bérangère we where back at the Refuge des Conscrits at 11 h and in Les Contamines at 16 h.
