Awesome perspective...

.... you can almost feel the warmth of the sunshine.
(Maybe because winter has been so long here, and I'm so ready for summer)

Re: Awesome perspective...

Thanks for the comment. We really did luck out with the weather.

Yeah, it was a rough winter by our Colorado standards. That May 12 snowstorm here in Fort Collins was not particularly welcome in my book!

Re: Awesome perspective...

Not mine either!

I was in Wyoming for the weekend and it snowed all day (May 22nd).... it was Wyoming.. but still..... it is time for old man winter to go to bed!

beautiful

Hi Nelson, is this a blend? Huge dynamic range.

Re: beautiful

Thanks Kane. Not a blend but processed in Lightroom and it does have a GND filter applied. The full sum of processing is:

Change white balance from as shot 4500 to a warmer 6000.
Add 6 ticks of fill light and black clipping to the entire image, shifting histogram slightly to the right.
Bumped saturation by 10 ticks (maybe a tad too much?)
Apply a -0.9 exposure GND to upper 25% of image (above trees on left) to remove blown out highlights on distant rocks.

Guess there are dozens of ways to accomplish something similar, but that's what I wound up with on this one.

Re: beautiful

I should have mentioned that it looks very natural.

Very soft, warm shot.

Tripod shot?
Almost looks like Jeff's carrying you!

Re: Very soft, warm shot.

Handheld at 1/60 sec. I was standing in the river. I tried to get Jeff to carry me but he wouldn't have any of it.
