unplanned add on  Sucess!

On the way home from a 2nd ascent of Mt Frissell in CT I passed by this park that I’d been seeing on the roadside since 2009. Forty minutes or so to the top with a lot of mosquitoes on the west and south sides of the mountain as I came down. The old rock graffiti was fairly prominent.

Great little mountain  Sucess!

A not so hidden gem in MA that somehow took me 10 years of hiking to finally hike. It was worth the wait!

Great short hike  Sucess!

A really cool short hike. The mountain is largely made of Quartz which is really cool to check out. It would be a great place to climb.

Squaw peak  Sucess!

Fun hike. Will have to read up to see if the Trustees have any policies on technical climbing - the top of the Pulpit looks quite attainable.

Great Little Mountain  Sucess!

Visiting my brother in Mass. Headed over for a short hike up to Squaw Peak. Very hot/humid day but rewarded with great views and dramatic cliffs on this loop hike.

Peace & Quiet  Sucess!

Wanted some peace and quiet to think. The summit was busier than a bus terminal, but I lucked out at the Devil's Pulpit. 30 minutes without even hearing a soul and some great views.

Another School Day

Went to high school at Monument Mountain Regional High School, "Go Spartans" climbed this mountain for PE class more times then I can remember. Always a great climb, no matter how many times we did it.

Who needs a trail?  Sucess!

Started up the rock pile in front of the parking area until it got too steep and technical. Then traversed left to pick up the ridge to the summit. Fun off trail travels. There was a ring of Tibetan prayer flags around a tree in the middle of the woods on my way. The ridge to the summit is a nice rocky ridge with what seemed like an old out-of-use trail to a flat spot between two rock walls. From there I picked up the white-blazed trail to the summit. Good fun to finish the day off with.
