Thanks for the thorough report that leaves me hopeful for an ascent of Mt. Grant in the future. I was flying back from Fairbanks, AK on 9/10 and was not able to fit in a Mt. Grant ascent this year.
I also enjoyed reading about your time on Mt. Rose and Mt. Davidson as well, having been to the summits of both those peaks myself in the last year.
I really hope that another Mount Grant event can be held in the future. On the positive side of things, I do not believe there were any incidents at this year's event which would hinder the possibility of a future event there. I really enjoyed going to Mount Rose; the nice trail and great summit views were good ways to end the trip.
Nice work. I was invited last minute to do this race, but literally the day before. I wish I had more notice about this event. If this event occurs next year, I would love to participate. I would probably run much of it.
