Jogged to the summit after running the mountain race up the auto race. Cool views above the clouds from the fire tower, love Vermont.

First hike of the season
A walk up the auto road in the late afternoon into evening (which had been compacted by snowmobiles) and then postholed the rest once I hit the parking lot. Visited the west summit, the observation tower, and the actual summit. Quite a bit of communications equipment up there. Started fairly mild and cloudy but got chilly once the skies cleared and the wind picked up. Just over five hours up and down.

Hangliding?
Took the Weathersfield trail up. Dry summer meant the waterfalls were completely dried up. Great views from West Peak, summit tower, and south peak hanglider platform. Met some hangliders at launch but didn't have time to watch them launch, maybe next time.

Nice quiet day
A good day for a nice hike up the Weathersfield trail--my first time up the trail in more than 12 years. There was no one around at all, so I had it to myself, which was great. Pretty cold with off-and-on rain, but the solitude and silence makes it worthwhile.
