Cleveland
Summit was in the clouds but the rest of the ascent was stunning. Saw a grizzly bear absolutely hucking it down the SE face. So impressive.

Cleveland in a day from the belly river trail head
We left Chief mountain customs at 5 am to do an estimated 46 miles and just about 8k vert. We ran all the way to Stoney Indian pass reaching the pass by 10am. We then started the scramble around the 3 stoneys and then up Mt. Cleveland we summited just after 1pm. We followed the same route back. The run down from Stoney Indian pass went quick because of the steep decent we made it to the Cosley lake campground around 6:30 or 7pm. Then one of the members in our group became very fatigued which slowed our pace a lot. We ended up hiking out the last 3 miles in the dark. We saw a larger grizzly bear and a very angry cow moose. We reached the car around 10:15pm. The entire day took us 16:37:57 it was 45.67 miles and 8,802 vert. Very long day we knew this going into it, I highly recommend taking the Goathaunt approach it would be a much more pleasurable experience.
I have more information as well as my gps track on my Strava.

Stony Indian traverse
Started from belly river and spent 2 nights at the head of Glenn's lake. Climb took about 13 hours. The traverse and views the whole way are breathtaking. Grizz near the false summit but he ran off as soon as he noticed us.
Started at noon (bad idea) and ascended from the valley just to the right of the first creek crossing after Mokowanis Junction CG. Nice bushwhack and scrambling to basin. Scree slog to the base of Stoney Indian Peaks North’s east ridge. Took goat trail to the right of the ridge and fun scrambling diagonally up to the saddle before the final climb ensued. No tracks in the snow on the summit. Summitted in just over 9 hours and 19 miles. Descended via Stoney Indian Pass to experience the miles long shelf and I massively regret it. None of the bridges were installed past where I turned off and navigating the scree-filled cliffs down to the pass was bewildering. Both feet got soaked leading to blisters. Descent took 14 hours and 23 miles.

Stoney Indian Traverse
Climbed via Stoney Indian route with Lou. 4th of the big 6 for both of us. Great day, weather held off just long enough to summit, take a few photos and boogie before a thunderstorm rolled in. Saw a sow grizzly with 2 cubs digging moths on top. Fantastic route, lots of fun!
Climbed with my wife from Stoney Indian Lake. Didn't see one other person all day. Beautiful blue skies. Amazing views during entire climb. Came face to face with unhappy goat just below the notch. One of my greatest memories.

Climbed with the my co-writers of Climb Glacier National Park, John VanArendonk and Scott Burry. John's son Ben (aka montanarendonk) was also along. Great day, horrible bushwhack to and from Camp Creek. Not a pleasant route from the hiking trail to the valley below the waterfalls. Summitted in high wind, 2 bears reported on summit (we did not see them), incredible views, great experience over all. Descend to Goathaunt to catch the 8:05 pm boat to Waterton.

The apex of a great summer
I'm reconstructing the date a little bit. Know it was early to mid-August 1998. Climbed with Beth, Lori, some guy from Oklahoma and maybe someone else. Need to go back and look at the Photos. We got a undesignated permit for one night. Came in from Waterton and did a sick bushwack to the base of the peak from the Westside. Climbed the next day and took too long. I remember kicking a rock on Lori's head and swear to this day if I would've called rock, it would have hit her in the face. Stayed another night at the undesignated site. Came out the next day and eventually had the "chat" in Rocky's office. We received a round of applause from the tourists on the Waterton ferry (who were seated a generous distance away from us). Smooth climb overall, great views especially into the hole in the wall area.
