"So I was sitting in my cubicle today, and I realized, ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single day that you see me, that's on the worst day of my life."

Summit with my wifeThis was my wife's second mountain ever, after topping out on Democrat a couple days earlier. We drove up the 2 miles to the real trailhead to avoid the extra hike.

East Slope via S. Elbert THI reached the summit with hiking pals, Phil Miller and Dan Spare in about three and a half hours. Beautiful weather encouraged the long walk to the top with at least 50 people at the summit. My 7th fourteener.

Great first 14'erWe had a phenominal day... zero clouds. Took the Southeast trail from the lower trailhead/parking lot. 7 hours total (including some time to hang at the summit). Lots of fun, great views.

Black Cloud AscentMy last 14er of that summer before I had to move out of CO for a while. Friends and I did the Black Cloud trail which turned out to be the perfect choice. We were the only ones to climb that route that day. Quite a change of scenery to pop out on the summit to 100 people.
