East Berthoud Pass Traverse, Hitch-hike Out
Climbed up from the Berthoud Pass, passing over Mt. Flora, and Mt. Eva before ending on Parry's Peak. Coming back from Parry's Peak, a thunderstorm gathered over Mt. Flora, and it started to pelt snow. Decided to descend the ridge to the highway and hitch-hiked back up to our car. Very interesting day, but mostly good snow conditions throughout.

Mount Flora
We had somewhere to be so couldn't start up the mountain until afternoon. Luckily the weather held and it was a nice day. Kim had a headache so she stopped short of the summit while I continued on to the summit.
The trail ends on a lower summit and the true summit is just to the north. While I was there I was the only one that went over to the true summit.

Amazing CDT Jaunt
First time on the CDT as well as first climb up to the Divide! Started from Rainbow Rd on Falls River. Immediate big views of Parry and Bancroft before switchbacking up the first nose. Trail levels out some for the alpine traverse around Witter with first big views of the Evans Massif to the southeast. Trail starts to descend the Mill Creek drainage to Bill Moore Lake and you get the first big views of Breckinridge and Flora. After crossing the creek (heavy backpackers be aware of one very suspect log!) it’s a quick rocky traverse of the cliffs and ledges of Breckinridge with amazing views of the Flora head wall and cirque back up the canyon. Next is the fairly lengthy climb up the east ridge of Breckinridge. This is the crux, but not hard and visual rewards abound! Gray’s and Torrey’s pop up like they belong in the Tetons, the towers of Mines below, the east steps of Witter, and the two glacial lakes above Moore Lake. The ridge walk is like floating in a sea of mountains as you approach the Divide. Another much shorter set of switchbacks after the Breckinridge/Flora saddle and you’re quickly to the first summit. It appears the northern summit is the true summit so I hit both. On the way back down it was an easy side trip just past the saddle to get up to Breckinridge before the final trip back with darkness falling. A long day (14mi./3000+ft) but one to remember. Happy trails!

Great hike! True tundra up there with high winds and ice. Views were beautiful as the sun came out.
Excellent peak despite its short distance. Great views and not too strenuous.

winter whiteout
i was trying to beat an incoming front, and i was successful in that regard for colorado mines, but flora was a completely different story. the whiteout started near the mines-flora saddle so i followed the ridge to flora's summit and then put my head down for the trudge out. good day!

Fun and straightforward
Great views. Did it along with Co Mines Peak. Serious cornices from spring snow. Route is a walk up but worth the trip!

From Colorado Mines
Climbed this with Peakbug after Colorado Mines. We made quick work of both peaks to beat holiday traffic. Our descent was well timed, as the wind picked up and brought a cloud through the saddle right after we passed it.
