Hi Bob, you have described the mountain pretty well and have given yourself and excuse to return. Does it get any better than that. Looks like you could bushwack from the road just south of Mt. Hardy but I guess you would have to snake around the rhododnedron Hells.

I hear there are some easy bushwhacks, but I kept encountering rock walls and thick rhododendron. I had to turn back, as I needed to get to a campsite and set up my tent. Also, since I pretty much hike exclusively alone, I didn't want to take any chances. There are some cliff faces on Hardy from which a fall would kill.
