West Slope  Sucess!

Set out from Mono Pass TH on the Tioga Road. Stayed on the footpath all the way to Parker Pass, 11,100'. To the sign. Then headed north up the slope, and banana'd to the right behind the mountain's nose to begin the west slope. At the top, an outstanding view of Mono Lake to the NE, and all the neighboring peaks to the SW. Mr. Lewis' plaque needs a little attention, but by golly, he's in Yosemite's history books and has a mountain named after him.

Dayhike from Mono Pass  Sucess!

Mellow trek to base, stumbled upon Bighorn Sheep skeleton on the way up to the ridge, found the plaque and the register. Clear skies, windy, beautiful views across YNP and into Mono Basin.

West Slope  Sucess!

Damn easy slog and quick, too. After seeing a bobcat in rocky benches at the base, I was pretty excited about being out there solo. :/

Dayhike from Dana Meadows  Sucess!

An easy day hike from Dana Meadows TH. I left the trail near Mono Pass and headed up the ridge to the summit. An easier way back was found. About 13 miles round trip.

Quick trip  Sucess!

from Parker Pass. Would have stayed a little longer on top, but threatening clouds dictated my departure.

dayhike from sr120  Sucess!

Tried for Kuna but got blown off the mountain by high winds. Settled for Lewis as a consolation prize.

From Mono Pass  Sucess!

An easy, but mostly sloggy ascent from just about any side. There's a nice little memorial at the summit for the peak's namesake. Trip Report
