Loop from Kite Lake TH.
Old Guide and I climbed via the East ridge off of the Quartzville Creek TH. Beautiful day with only some minor wind.
Icy cold and windy on the summit.
I should try this in winter.
some deep snow in sections and plenty of Big cat prints (mountain lion or Linx?)
clear views, no clouds and first on summit!
Climbed via the old usual route to grab all three peaks. Wonderful day, cold beer at the end; with my wife, Mrs. Rat.
I started in the town of Alma, nice long day all by myself!
Four 14ers in one day. A pleasant hike but clouds obscured the views.
first winter fourteener with jamie this year!
climbed the east ridge from the cameron-democrat saddle with jamie and prakash. ended up being a lot longer of a day than we expected. hiked out in the dark from the kite lake outhouse to paris mill!
This was my first 14ner snowboard descent. The last 300 feet were brutal because I could see the summit within reach! Hard windcrust on top but 1000 feet down it softened right up.
DID LOOP FROM KITE LAKE TRAILHEAD
Hiked all four via Lincoln Amphitheater from Montgomery Reservoir Trailhead with my friend Jason. Summited Lincoln twice this day. A torrential rainstorm hit as soon as we got back to our cars, just in the nick of time.
Mt. Lincoln's approach was like going to Mars. Very weird. I liked the summit very much. My best friend and I did our usual type trip from Oklahoma. Drive all night, sleep a couple of hours, go for the summit. We had never done more than one 14er on any trip but we decided to give this a whirl. Started with Democrat and did the loop. Finishing with a fun glissade down Bross. All of these four peaks were done before these were closed recently.
This was my 7th climb of Lincoln. It was combined with Democrat. The weather ran out before we could get Bross.
This was the first of many climbs of the Lincoln, Democrat and Bross group. Most of the climbs were from Kite Lake and most were climbs of 2 or 3 of the group. A couple of the climbs were from the east. This climb was combined with Bross from Kite Lake.
All around on a gorgeous summer day. Slid most of the way down Bross.
Started at Kite Lake, hiked up to Democrat, traversed over the Cameron, then Lincoln and finally Bross before coming down the western side of Bross back to Kite Lake. If you miss the trail coming down Bross it is a scree field that isn't much fun to come down. Even my Golden Retriever didn't care for that. Otherwise it was a great day.
Nice hike after summiting Mount Bross.
Mount Lincoln: 4,354 m (14,286 ft).
A great hike for both me and my dog. However, the descent down bross was a sub-par escapade
Climbed from Cameron after climbing Democrat. Nice views from the top, weather was great!
