Fantastic shot!

Mount Monica might not be the most impressive mountain in the world, however your shot with its excellent clarity and composition belongs to the finest photos on SP!

another

spot I've wanted to go. I love the way you were able to capture the foreground to the mountain without losing clarity.

Re: another

I was kind of amazed myself since this was on full auto and no tripod. The camera must have set a very small aperture for DOF and the shutter compensated well it seems (one of those small pentax optio wr models).

Very nice!

I've hiked up in Monica Meadows - nice picture. Are you from the West Kootenays? I lived in Kaslo for 7 years and saw lots of this country - it's pretty awesome.

Re: Very nice!

Thanks. I am actually from Vancouver but moved to Okanagan about 12 years ago to be closer to the Columbias and Rockies yet still remain an easy day from the coast. Indeed the country is awesome, Kaslo is also a pretty town.

Majestic composition!

The back ground made flowers (a kind of orchid?) complexion stand out. Many thanks for posting!
