Climbed Belford and Oxford in fresh fall snow conditions.
Nice easy hike from Elkhead Pass.
Camped overnight south of Elkhead Pass. Went back up the pass and climbed this after Belford in the same day. Heading back up to the ridge of Belford from Oxford was pretty steep.
Last trace of snow on the trail.
Coming back up the saddle to Belford is tough!
Both with Rhett
Second time up, windy but clear fall day, not much snow on the trail yet.
With Megan and Katie, both 12. A mtn named (I presume) after my alma mater. Glad to see that nobody has seen fit to burden the Collegiates with a Mt Cambridge... Camped in Missouri Gulch; an early morning trip across Belf and Oxf.
Shavano Tabeguache on Saturday, Belford and Oxford on Sunday. The saddle was deeper than it seemed/
13th 14er this year.
Belford, Oxford, Missouri combo.
It was a long back to the car after summiting Oxford, but a great day.
1.5 hours each way from/to Belford. Beautiful day but very windy going up Oxford from ridge. Oxford summit was the windiest of the entire day.
From Missouri Gulch TH. Ascended Belford first, over to Oxford, back to Belford, down to Elkhead Pass, down the the trail junction of the standard route for Missouri, summit of Missouri and back to the TH. Great weather all day.
6/26/05 - Standard route over Belford.
3/17/12 - Insanely easy winter ascent via the standard route. Drove all the way to the TH. Never used snowshoes!
not the easiest day with deep snow in unexpected places above treeline. took 2.5 hrs to wallow from belford to oxford through crotch deep snow. flurries on oxford's summit, a great feeling!
