Only an hour to the top. For Oklahoma the view was spectacular. I jogged much of the way down.
Pretty easy hike/drive to the summit, great views, usually super windy.
We are lucky to have places like this in Oklahoma, lots of fun moderate climbing with lots of variety.
The Mt. Scott crags offer plenty of great trad top rope routes for all skill levels. Don't go after May though, way too hot.
Some bush wackin' and much boulder hoppin'...fun little climb
Drive up to explore and enjoy the beautiful views at the end of the day. Was great weather for a day hiking in the Wichita's.
When you're out on the Plains you get what you can get.
Fun rockclimbing at Dream Boat Annie and lower and upper walls. Awesome views from top too.
Had "summitted" many times by car. However, in celebration of six decades here on planet Earth, hiked the road up from the adjacent picnic area. Windy day, so it was especially breezy up on top. But, the views were great at the much slower walking pace. --mark d.
Nice get away from the barracks of Ft. Sill. Loved the views. I could see the Land Navigation course I tested on during my BOLC II. Saw some bison too!
Hahaha, yes, I've also "Summited" Mount Scott. As always, great views. The last I was there, the wind nearly blew me off the top...well, not really, but I was very windy.
I LOVE the Wichita Mountains ! My stomping ground when I lived in Oklahoma.
Drove up in 1973(guessing)and again in 1997. On both trips, drove back down again.
Drove up and climbed routes on upper and lower Mount Scott. Scrambled around an bit, like the boulder field that is a .5 a mile up.
Yeah, it was windy. We did some scrambling around the top afterward, but I really just wanted to get my friends oriented on their first visit to the Wichitas.
Parked at picnic area and climbed up the south face of Mt. Scott with friend of mine on Sat. Jan 6, 2007. Very steep and often dicey climb. Descended down the southwest slope and on to Mount Scott's Boy.
Great place to escape Lawton
Great panoramic views all the way up. October 2004
Drive up on Thanksgiving Day, thought about walking it, but not fond of hiking mountains where the road is the trail. Did however hike up the nearby Elk Mountain.
