Good times on Snefelofogus  Sucess!

Kieva, Sean and I climbed the standard route, snow towards top of lavender couloir, manageable with microspikes. The route is full of loose rock so descent not so fun.

Loved this mountain. Next time I will try the ridge

from Yankee Boy  Sucess!

Shorter hike than I thought. Didn't get started until about 10am. Pretty darn windy out

On a very windy day  Sucess!

#1 9-05-16 Bad weather the day before chased us off of the ascent to Castle Peak, but today brought deep blue skies, scattered clouds and winds which would have tipped Paul Bunyan over. But we made it anyway. Yankee Boy Basin road (@11,195'), Wrights Lake spur, and you know the rest of the standard route. Up in 3+17. Met many fine people including an 11-year old boy named Lucas who, with his father, joined us on the wind-swept summit. One of my favorite 14ers so far. With Lana. Next time we'll try the southwest ridge from Blue Lakes Pass.

Standard Route up Lavender Col  Sucess!

My first 14er! Took the standard route up Lavender Colouir, with plenty of snow still hanging on. I didn't have any traction or ice axe, just hiking shoes and a trekking pole. It was sketchy going up and even more so going down.

Lavender col  Sucess!

Almost got turned back by icy col. Went for it anyway. Safer on decent after sun softened snow. Amazing place. Don't forget your axe.

Lavender Col  Sucess!

Followed the standard route up. A slightly tricky move to crawl up into the V slot above Lavender Col, but it is more scary-looking (for me, because I'm chicken) than actually difficult.

Beautiful Autumn  Sucess!

Couldn't have asked for a better day. Had some moist clouds (Yay) to walk thru mid morning but they gave way to just an incredible, multi-colored day. It's one of those you just want to stay up there on a while.
The threesome that cashed it in at Saddleback missed a real treat.

Great mountain  Sucess!

Coming in a 2 wheel drive rental I had to start from the lower trailhead. Hiked up via Blue Lakes Pass and SW ridge. Decent via normal route. Perfect weather and some ok scrambling on the way up. Views from the summit were great, even with a little haze in the distance.

Stellar route!

SW Ridge is THE way to go!  Sucess!

Up Class 3 SW Ridge - so much fun. Descended the standard scree and saw the frustration on ascenders' faces. Would repeat this 14er anytime (that ridge was a blast!!) I'm in the Ouray area. Climbed with MoapaPk (Harlan).

21st Birthday Climb  Sucess!

Summited on the 31st of July in 2013. This was as great climb. I loved it. Many people were climbing that day, but very few of them summited. Most people quit at the saddleback below the last couloir.

flyingfish and levar kai  Sucess!

What a great 17th birthday present for my son: a successful climb up Mt. Sneffels!!! This was his first 14'er.

fun day  Sucess!

Great day up, meant to climb the SW ridge, took wrong trail and ended up doing normal route but added a little spice to it by gong up a different chute to access some class IV and easy 5th class sections. Completed with two buddies, this was ones first summit on a 14ner

Lavender Col  Sucess!

On a rainy day I decided to drive up into Yankee Boy Basin just to have a look. I come to the end of the road way above tree line only to discover that it's only a mile's walk to the summit. The weather is still questionable, but how could I not try? This was the quickest CO 14er so far. Nice summit.

Sneffels  Sucess!

Up the SW ridge from Yankee Boy Basin. Visibility was non-existent when I reached the summit. Still a fun hike, though.
