Hiked up with some friends who were heading back to the 100+ degree heat in Texas. Got to watch hundred of cyclists suffering up Loveland Pass during the Triple Bypass.
Nice, easy hike in 40+ mph winds.
A lot of people on the route (Sunday), most snow was blown off of route. 3 inches of snow at its deepest.
Good place to take a break and bust out the lungs for a little bit. First time above 10,000 in almost 6 months and it felt great!
Had the whole mountain to myself.

Climbed with Barb and Janey. We started late (about 10 AM) but had ideal weather conditions for a quick summit.
I've climbed this at least three times, and always keep it in my backup plans when I need an easy outing. This mountain is one of my favorites, in spite of being very accessible to tourists and casual visitors. Once you reach the summit you can often have the peak to yourself!
After returning to the car and going back to town, I finished the day by joining three of my friends to go to the Rockies baseball game that night.
What an excellent day!
Nice Hike. Still enough snow to get in some glasading.
Can't remember when I climbed this - either early season 2008 or early season 2009. Apparently, I took no pictures - probably because it was a rather ordinary hike.
A good introduction to climbing. Kind of hazy out today but still got tons of great pictures and an even better workout =)
Had a late start from Loveland Pass, and hiked up Sniktau and then traversed over to Cupid.
Great, quick hike on the way back to the airport. We only had so much time but with the views of I70 running fast we decided we could make the top. Weather was moving in on our way down.
Cold, windy, cloudy day but still a quick enjoyable climb.
Left Denver early and was at the summit by 10:00 AM. Beautiful day
Decided to hike this after Grays and Torreys since it was such an outstanding day regarding weather. Was hoping to nab Grizzly too to complete a 4-bagger but the thought of a very overdue late lunch drew me back down to the car.
A bitter cold and windy day prevented a longer trip to Grizzly.
Janey Butterworth and I enjoyed a beautiful break from the gloomy weather that gripped the metro area over the holiday weekend. The scenery on this climb was spectacular, and we had a perfect weather day. Cloud formations were dramatic, and the terrain was the greenest I have ever seen this late in the season in Colorado.
Rush and I got in a last climb before leaving for our Denali trip. High winds, blowing snow and low to zero vis was the name of the game on the upper half of the route.

Axe and I made a quick trip from Loveland pass. We had moderate temps but high wind.

Rkymtn and I had an enjoyable outing on what was a easy climb in all aspects but the wind. The surrounding view is great.
This hike was part of my belated 30th birthday celebration trip. I skied at A Basin on Friday, then hiked Sniktau on Saturday. I ate my only birthday cake this year, a Hostess cupcake, on the summit in the freezing wind. I would have liked to have gotten Grizzly as well, but that will have to wait for another trip....I had ski traffic to beat down to Denver!
I can't believe the weather we had today. Bluebird skies, just amazing. Granted, it was plenty cold and, of course, insanely breezy en route to Sniktau. But, all in all, the weather was fabulous. Hiking partner: Jill.
