Black Mtn. is seen directly to the North. The distance is .7 miles. Follow the fence line (which is the boundary line between Santa Clara & Stanislaus County) North. There is no USGS BM on Black Mtn. Don't confuse this Black Mtn with the other Black Mountain which is another Diablo Range peak farther North close to Mount Day.

the other Black Mountain

Have you done Black Mtn/Mt Day? These two have been on my list for years, but I've never managed to get to them.

Not yet but planning like yourself on my list of peaks to climb. Plan on it once the weather cools in the fall of 2010 or perhaps winter/spring of 2011.
